| President's Message May 2010 |
Greetings Chefs and Fellow Culinarians,
Last month, I had the opportunity to attend my first Southeast Regional Conference. It was a great experience and I met numerous members that are very passionate and committed to the success and advancement of our association. There were over 300 chefs from the Southeast that attended. At the conference, there were excellent educational seminars and lots of networking.
Congratulations to Chef Ken Bourgoin CEC, Culinary Instructor from Valencia Community College for winning the 2010 Southeast Regional Educator of the Year.
Congratulations also go out to Chef Andreas Proisl, Executive Pastry Chef, from Isleworth Golf and Country Club for winning the 2010 Southeast Regional Pastry Chef of the Year. Both chefs will be competing in Anaheim during the National Convention in August for the National Title.
Congratulations as well go to Chef Roger Newell, CEC, CCE, CCA, Culinary Instructor at Technical Education Center of Osceola and Chairman of the Board for receiving a Presidential Medallion Award from President Michael Ty for his outstanding contributions to the ACF.
Our Chapter received one of five Chapter Achievement Awards given out this year. Congratulations ACF Central Florida Chapter for a job well done!
